Q. When is Official Southern Decadence Weekend?
A. Official Southern Decadence is always Labor Day Weekend. 2017 dates are Wednesday, August 30-Monday, September 4.
Q: How Can I Buy A Weekend Pass?
A: Unfortunately, there is no one weekend pass which gets you into all Official Southern Decadence Events. Many of the events do not require admittance fees. You can save money by buying weekend passes for the events at "Bourbon Street's Top Dance & Show Club," Oz New Orleans, 800 Bourbon St. and at "one of the top ten male dance clubs in the nation," The Corner Pocket, 940 St. Louis St. There are no cover charges for the Official Southern Decadence Grand Marshals Drag Show on Friday at the Golden Lantern, 1239 Royal St., nor for Leather Decadence: The Largest Leather/Levi Block Party in the South, also on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Phoenix, 941 Elysian Fields. An entry fee is not required for the Official Southern Decadence Parade on Sunday beginning at the Golden Lantern, nor to participate in the Official Southern Decadence Bead Toss, also on Sunday below the balcony at The Ambush Mansion, 828 Bourbon St. You can find all of the latest information by picking up a copy of the Official Southern Decadence Guide, Ambush Mag upon your arrival in New Orleans. Q. Where's the best place to stay?
A. There are numerous hotels, guest houses and accommodations in the French Quarter and surrounding areas that are recommended by Official Southern Decadence. Visit the Southern Decadence accommodations and lodging page. And like Mardi Gras at the beginning of the year, Southern Decadence reservations should be made early to secure your accommodations.
